BEAR NECESSITIES On the set, performers wearing polar bear fur gave the actors something to react to, while an army of CG animators started working on the 400-plus polar bear shots. ”Fortunately,” says director Chris Weitz (About a Boy), ”I’ve surrounded myself with people who are much smarter than me.”

Iorek will be really great…he was great in the books…i’m sure he’ll be great in the movies…espcially with all the hard work put into it

what’s wit his armor? i thought dat in da book it woz all bashed up and old, not brand spankin new and shiny like in the film!

In the game he uses seal grease. And no, his armour is not supposed to be shiny, in the film, Ragnar’s name is different. In the book it is Iofur. It sounds better Iofur than Ragnar

the film was great. I love it very much, especially the setting ! I always love snow-setting film. The story is fantastic (very imaginative) and the characters, too !
I can’t imagine if I could meet IOREK BYRNISON, a huge & heroic Polar Bear ! Please share any info about this film. But, I wonder if it is a ‘good film’ . I’m afraid it will be polemic among the other friends. (sorry, i just saw the film, not read the novel) -

I mean a polemic like ‘Harry Potter’. I agree that ‘Harry Potter’ is not something good (sorry). About ‘Golden Compass’, I don’t know much (???). tq
